Making Adjustments to Jumbo Chanel Flap Bags

In an earlier post, I briefly talked about adjusting the length of the straps on Chanel bags. Chanel flap bags tend to have longer straps than most shoulder bags out there and the length can be somewhat awkward. When I bought my mom her jumbo Chanel, the SA briefly showed me how to shorten the straps since I was complaining about their length. I finally tried it out for myself and here is a quick tutorial on this simple trick:

1. Open the bag and adjust the strap until you get your desired length

2. Pull a ribbon/string/shoelace/etc. through the two loops

3. Tye the ribbon

4. Place the extra straps inside the bag

*Before*

*After*

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to adjust the length of the straps and now I'm totally excited that I can make about three "different" purses out of just one!! There are other ways of adjusting the straps but this one is so easy even I can do it :)

Denim Dress...A Rare Find

Other than jeans, I'm not too keen on denim. I think the whole denim jacket fad in high school killed it for me. However, it was hard for me to say no to this denim dress...theres something about full skirts that I can't say no to. And oh yea, we tried out a new location today :)

My company sells nutritional products, hence the larger than life carrots and peas in the background :P

Cardigan: Lin?? I forgot to ask my photographer to take a picture of the back of this cardigan...its a hooded cardigan!!! Yes, I get a kick out of stuff like this...

Dress: H&M...I've always known that I own a lot of stuff from H&M but this blog has made me realize just how much H&M stuff I actually have...

Tights: Spanx...dont worry, I have 4 or 5 pairs in rotation. Brings up a good topic...ladies, our tights is sorta almost like our underwear so please, wash them after each use. I say this because I once saw a poll on a website asking readers how often they wash their tights...that to me is equivalent to posing the question "How often do you wash your underwear?"

Shoes: Louboutin...yes, I am now fully recovered from my mid-afternoon Louboutin breakdown.

I Love You So Much I Hate You

Yes, Christian. Its true, I love you so much that I think I'm beginning to resent you. Why do you torture me with your shoes?? I've been holding out for sale season to begin so that we could get reacquainted but now, you're making me fall in love with all these new designs that for sure wont be going on sale anytime soon. I'm trying to prove to my dad that I'm not compulsive when it comes to spending money but you're making it very damn hard. Like for example, I had basically accepted that fact that your platform MJs were gone forever but today I find these...

How do you explain this?! And to add insult to injury, you mark these up to $1000?!? Not so nice...I practically grabbed my credit card the minute I saw these but then realized...my dad is not going to look so kindly upon $1000 shoes...$700 maybe, $1000 is pushing it. So unless these go on sale, our relationship will suffer. Oh and this is me being nice, dont even get me started on your Fall 08 stuff...

**Its okay everyone, I'm still sane...just a little upset right now but still sane...**

***UPDATE: Looking back on this post, I feel a little bad for being so harsh on Christian...so, sorry Mr. Louboutin, you know I love you!***

Rolando Madness

CL Rolandos will always have a special place in my heart...they are the reason why I started obsessing over Louboutins to begin with and now it seems its popularity is growing exponentially. In addition to the basic black, it now comes in patent black, patent red, suede blue, suede yellow, suede purple (though I haven't seen this in over a year), and bronze. Even though I can already claim the black and bronze as my own, every time I see it in a new color, I have the urge to splurge. At the moment, I'm pretty much envious of everyone and anyone who owns the patent red and suede blue. I'm seriously considering buying yet another pair of Rolandos even though I know I should diversify a little and not to mention, Rolandos are very hard to walk in. Ugh...the torture of being obsessed with Louboutins :( I also noticed today that Rolandos have gone up in price...back in early 2007, they were about $620 and nowadays, Rolandos are $700...price increases are a bitch man...

Got Tricked By The Morning Sunlight!

This morning I actually got up somewhat early!! I looked out and saw a few rays of sunlight so I figured today would be hotter than yesterday. WRONG! Today was way chilly and my silk dress was not exactly the best choice but oh well. I also came out of denial this morning, there is no way to get around the fact that I am long overdue for a trip to the dry cleaners :(

And now a blooper pic for your viewing pleasure...

We were trying to get a closeup of the dress and my photographer started cracking under the pressure as I was giving her my most serious pose, this of course made me crack as well :P

Dress: Grace Sun...got it for 50%!! Love the color and the lace detail but I have to say, silk is hard to wear since it wrinkles with even just the slightest movement...

Shirt: H&M...kept me warm today!! This dress would be totally fine without a shirt but I like how the black brings out the lace detail that could've potentially gotten lost again my skin tone...

Tights: Spanx

Shoes: Lanvin...I need/want/desire new Lanvins possibly more than Louboutins!! And yes, the box does have a lil something to do with my obsession...weird, I know :P

Costume Gala

If there was one event that I would die to go to, its the Costume Gala...I really would just die!!! I think I look forward to whose wearing what for the Costume Gala more than any other event out there. Seriously, who can forget Cameron's Dior gown?! Here are some of the good and bad from this year's gala...

My Favorites: Camille Bell and Diane Kruger (I know her number is almost sort of too casual but I looove the dress!). But of course, the one and only Bee (pictured above) shows everyone how its done!!! **UPDATE: Bee as in Bee Schaffer as in Anna Wintour's daughter!**

The Most BANGIN' Couple...ugh, how sexy are they?!

WOW...she managed to age 30 years with her look...I'm very astonished that Posh would let her team do this to her...

I really dislike her for various reasons...shes gets the award for being the most mediocre...

This is way too goth...Fergie should've thought G-L-A-M-O-R-OUS instead!

I usually like Katie Holmes' outfits but the color and the length of this is just off and those shoes...

This is just scary...

Hasty Photo Session

My photographer and I did not have the luxury of spending a lot of time taking pictures today so we managed to only get one decent picture :( Better luck tomorrow...

Sweater: Forever 21

Shirt: Geren Ford...so bummed we didn't get a good closeup of this wonderfully ruffled shirt...I'll have to remember to wear it again soon :P

Pants: Banana Republic

Pumps: BCBG

Bag: MULBERRY :) Yeup...still smitten...

Unexpected But Excellent ...

I wasn't expecting to do much this weekend, in fact I had pictured myself reading and watching Friends on my couch the whole time. Well life is full of surprises. My Saturday brunch date with DZ somehow morphed into a day long shopping trip on Melrose. We browsed through Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs (finally tried on his backward heel...surprisingly comfy but not really me), Fred Segal, Resurrection, Theory, Nanette Lepore, Madison, Miss Sixty, Diabless, and oh yea, Mulberry. I went into Mulberry mainly cus I wanted to check out the leather quality/feel of the Bayswater. As soon as we walked in, I practically ran to the purple ostrich Bayswater on display and started gushing about it to DZ. In the midst of me admiring the ostrich Bayswater, the SA greeted us with "Hello ladies, just to let you know, as a Mother Day promotion, every single item in the store is 30%". I think my heart stopped beating for about 5 seconds as I tried to register the information. I told the SA I hated him cus he was basically making it impossible for me to not walk out with the ostrich Bayswater...when else would I come across a ostrich Bayswater in a perfect purple color at 30% off?!?! Um, basically never. Thus, I feel fully justified in my purchase pictured below...

I had a hard time taking these pictures cus Libby could not get enough of my new Mulberry...guess she takes after her mommy!

(Dont worry...Libby is only smelling, not biting, my precious new purchase...)

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to purchase my first exotic for 30% off in such a gorgeous color and lets not forget the fact that this is my first Mulberry!! Mulberry is huge in England and the SA told us its actually much more cheaper to get it in the States than in England ($995 for a regular leather Bayswater here is 1200 pounds there). The promotion is also only happening at the Melrose location so if you've been craving for a Mulberry, I would highly recommend making a mad dash to Melrose :) BTW...I predict Mulberry to skyrocket in popularity in the States soon so it wouldn't be a bad idea to purchase one now before the prices start increasing!

Kinda Funny...

Yes, indeed. What could I have possible ordered that would require so much packaging?? I was pretty amused by the big mess I had created just to get to my goodies which came individually wrapped in this thick, perforated tissue paper shown below:

I think for a second, I actually questioned the package...what DID I order from Saks?!? Well if you can believe it, it was nothing more than these three items:

LOL...yea, I know right?!?

BTW...I did not order two La Mer Eye Concentrates for myself...one is for my mommy!!

Another Week Has Ended...

Does anyone else hate the fact that 2008 is just flying by?! Remember when a year actually felt like a good amount of time?? Ugh...I hate growing up. Anyhoo...since today was "I Dont Care Friday", I didn't do much at work (I'll pay for it Monday morning...) but my photographer and I sure had a blast taking the pictures :) If only I wasn't so shy, I would probably post the "candid" pictures :P

Sweater Shurg: H&M..great for nights out!

Tunic Dress: Chelsea Flowers...bought it last year during the BNY warehouse sale. Its actually a dress but since its ultra thin, I need to invest in a good slip before I dare wear it out as a dress :P The "beading" is actually individual pearls wrapped up in sheer fabric with vintage-looking diamond studs. This thing is heavy...I'm always half expecting the fabric to crumble under the weight of the pearls.
Jeans: Random brand from Macy*s, bought it back when I was a senior in high school. I'm pretty sure it cost no more than $30 but its one of those things that I would probably never part with cus its just too comfy...

Shoes: Tory Burch...I kinda neglect my other Tory Burch flats cus these silver ones match with basically everything in the whole wide world...

Alber Elbaz

Awwww...is he not just the cutest ever??! LOL...by cute I mean adorable, children's book character cute...not sexy, hot cute :P Alber is of course the current Lanvin designer who has worked in the past for Geoffrey Beene and YSL (he was robbed by Tom Ford...). I have him to thank for my beloved Lanvin shoe box in the classic forget-me-not blue color :) In 2005, he was named International Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers for doing such a great job at turning the house of Lanvin around. He is known for mixing simplicity with indulgent pearls and ribbons, his goal is not to produce the 'it' design, but to offer timeless pieces that will last you long after all the other fads have faded into oblivion. When Shaw-Lan Wang purchased Lanvin, Alber called her and urged her to "wake up the sleeping beauty"...*sigh* what a great way to describe Lanvin...now if only I could actually afford the clothes...

Plaids and Fishnets...

California weather has been up and down the spectrum lately but judging from the sun this morning, I opted for one of my all-time favorite dresses and some kinky sling-backs :) This outfit always manages to put me in a good mood...

Sweater: H&M...I also have the same sweater in a vibrant cobalt blue. This black one shrunk from me throwing it into the washer and dryer but to be honest, I actually like the shrunken version better :D

Dress: H&M...like I said, one of my favorite dresses and I would never ever part with it. I think it does my curves some good ;)

Shoes: Louboutin. While I usually detest all things related to fishnet...I could not pass these sling-backs up. I love the high-arch and these are actually very comfy. I wouldn't wear them with jeans or anything too revealing since that would be borderline stripper-wear :P Everytime I wear these shoes, I tend to catch a lot of females staring at them...I think the fishnet throw people off or maybe its the height or maybe its both...who know, who cares, I love them anyways :)

ECK

I know I shouldn't waste my time on this bimbo but I can't help it!! Heidi has probably already figured out that her "fame" comes from all of American hating her and inadvertently giving her attention by bashing on her so she's sorta making a run for it. Smart I guess. Whatever. Anyhow, who wants to tell this plastic Thing that one should not parade with their lingerie on outside the comforts of their own home?? Save this little number for Spencer when you're torturing him at home but spare us. And if you REALLY want to walk around with lingerie on, might I suggest something other than Barbie pink?? Oh, BTW...the brightness of your blond hair is hurting my eyes...

Burberry Shoes

Okay I got so excited over Gwyneth's Burberry oxfords that I sort of just went on a Burberry shoe hunt. I found some great flats that would be ideal for summer!! I think both of these flats shown would look great with either a summer dress/skirt or even shorts :) I know the Burberry plaid can at times be just as cheesy as the LV monogram but I think these two flats are pretty demure in their plaid design. I also found the sling-back flats in the black and white plaid and I would probably go with that color combo instead of the original Burberry plaid colors. A note on perforation...I'm usually not into perforated items cus its pretty easy to make them look cheap but Burberry somehow made it work on these peep-toe flats.

Oh and I did manage to find the patent leather oxfords online but at $940, I'm not ready to hit the buy button just yet...

Gwyneth Paltrow Shoe Envy

I know this is slightly old news but seriously, looking at pictures of Gwyneth's sky-high heels is making me all hot and bothered :P Gwyneth shares my love for sky-high heels and platforms...the only difference is, she has the luxury of actually owning every pair of wildly expensive but wildly fabulous high-heel out there...

The black pumps are YSL and the lacy pumps are Dsquared. I want them both :) I guess the lacy pumps are a bit much but how can anyone refuse those killer thin heels?!

Burberry patent leather oxfords and Louboutin patent leather Rolandos. I already have the Rolandos but I would KILL for those oxfords :)

People also have their panties in a bunch over her funky brown Pachinni oxfords:

These babies are 7 inches in height and she actually needed assistance walking in them. A bit too funky for my tastes but still fabulous nonetheless :)

*Sigh*...I'm completely enamored with her shoe collection but I must now return to cramming for my microbio exam...

*PS* Of course these are not the complete collection of her recent shoe orgy but just some of my favorites...
